Long and Curly, or Tucked and Pinned?

Now that I have a dress, it is time to figure out how I am going to do my hair for the Europe bridal shoot(s). My hair is very long (halfway down my back), something I have been waiting to say for a long time now, and so I actually have quite a few possibilities. It doesn't hold curl well, but that is mostly due to the fact that I hate using hairspray. I am thinking half-up is going to be the best option. I have spent a lot of time browsing through the fantastic photobucket hair/makeup inspiration album by be_byte6. Here are a few inspirational photos I have collected so far.

I am not sure what the humidity of Italy is like, but their is a chance that this will just fall flat as soon as we get outside. I also can't decide if I like the hairstyle or the model who is showing it off. Isn't she gorgeous?

Kind of the standard, curly pulled back half-up hairstyle. Might actually cost us more than it's worth since it kind of needs some type of accesory pinned in with it.

This actually might be my favorite. Not sure I would be able to hide, or blend in those messy ends as well as that stylist did. And I don't have a pretty comb to stick inside.
Definitely the safest option, as this is a hairstyle I do for myself quite regularly.

Anyone have any ideas? Anything particularly European or fashion forward that a little country girl like myself can accomplish in our tiny hotel room in Rome, with just a straightener and medium barreled curling iron?

I love the second hair do the best and the first is tempting but I would find it hard just to let it be in my face...lol!

i love the first one - my only advice would be to go with the one you feel most confortable with and that's the most 'you'. if i could go back i reckon i would have just had my hair down, slightly wavy or loosly pinned back..i think mine was too fussy really (for me)

I just think I should say that your hair should look fantastic in Italy- which might go well with a more curled style because it will have lots of body and I like the wavy look. Plus don't we all need an excuse to buy more things for a wedding?

brideinthemaking-I think that the hair in the face, especially in the humidity in Rome has probably elimiated #1. And the difficulty in creating such loose curls.

kat-It's so hard to fight the urge to do something up and dramatic (how often do you get to wear your hair that way?)

janemadsen-I don't know if I really need any more excuses to buy things. I do a pretty good job already :)
