Those Party Dresses Found

Remember when I was going to get one dress for my black tie event on New Years? And then I was going to try to use that same dress for the company cocktail party I am attending with my husband?

That plan is dead. New plan: 2 dresses are better than one! Yep, I bought one floor length gown, and one knee length gown and got them both for about $135 total!

It's the Hollywood style by Mikarose. Don't mind my lack of makeup.

I don't love the neckline. But look how cute the shoes are!

I do not think the back fits well. I don't really care. Finding a modest and affordable evening gown was a nightmare.

I tried adding a belt to give it some definition. Should I try to find a dressy looking sash?

I love the silky shiny fabric.

This is $45 cocktail dress I found on jcpenney.com. That Husbands company is having a holiday party with dinner and dancing on the 12th and so I'll get to make my big debut in it then.

Black cocktail

I wish I had a little more of a waist while wearing it, but I can't cinch it up with anything because it will become too short.

The cap sleeves are really cutting it close, and that is an illusion neckline, so I'm going to have to wear some kind of undershirt under it.

Dress 1= I actually like the neckline! I think it'll look really elegant!

Dress 2- Love this! can you line the neckline with some thicker fabric?

I never know which one of these blogs I'm supposed to comment on! Anyway, love the elegance of the floor length. It seems like there's a lot of mid-calf going around, so I like that. Also, the polka dot belt is to die for, and totally you. Also, I sympathize with your struggle in finding non-frumpy sleeved/knee-length dresses. It's the bane of my existence.

Which one to comment on!

Having looked at the dresses again, I think you need to hem the floor length dress as it is a bit long, but it looks good.

A bright silk bag would make either of these dresses look extra fab!

Hope you enjoy your drinks parties.

I love dress number 1 and the dress is the perfect touch to make it even more chic!

Me and my fiance have a Christmas party coming up to announce our engagement ever since he proposed to me with a gorgeous diamond engagement ring from www.idonowidont.com so I need a cute black chic dress too.

I think the second dress is adorable and would love that length to wear at our party, thanks for the tip!

Definitely the little sash with number 1! They are both great dresses!

Oh my! They are both so cute, though I did love the brown one for less formal things. I definitely love the belt too. And large bobbles will make the neckline tres chic.
