I have had this picture hanging up in my room for months. I ripped it out of a Martha Stewart Wedding magazine who knows how long ago, and I would give anything to find it in a store somewhere and try it on. I am turning to all of you, pleading for you to rack your brains (and maybe rifle through a few issues) to find the maker of this dress! Did that crazy Martha Stewart just whip it up herself for the issue? Tell me this isn't the case!

i love love love love love this gown. it's a vera wang. but i have never been able to locate a style number or see the dress in person. :(
Wow !!! That really is a gorgeous dress.
It's beautiful. And it feels timeless...
elizabeth-of course I would fall in love with a completely impossible to find vera wang. I could never have anyone custom make it either, no one can make dresses like she can.
carol-I know, isn't it gorgeous? If only it was on me instead of that dress mannequin.
east side bride-That is the best word to describe it. Timeless. 100 years from now I will never regret a dress like that.
Jenna, this dress was ALL I wanted, and I, too, thought it strange that Martha didn't credit her in the issue (at least in a very obvious spot). Glad you're enjoying my Seattle ideas! :)
Timeless is exactly the word. I love the silhouette...it's similar to the one I wore and oh so beautiful.
holly-well if so many people want the dress, why isn't someone else making it? Martha should. She should make that dress.
angel-What was your dress? I would love to see it!
It is a lovely dress!
It is a gorgeous dress indeed. Why don't you take the picture to a seamstress and ask if she can reproduce "something like this" for you? If you can find the material, you'd probably spend less than you would buying the dress ready-made, and then you'd have your timeless dress!
botticelli babe-I have thought about that so many times, but it is one of those times when I love the dress so much that I know no interpretation would ever do. I think I would be disappointed in the end unless the seamstress was able to create exactly this dress. There is someone in my area advertising frequently on Craigslist though. I think I will send the picture over to her and see what she thinks.
Wow, I got married in 2006 and I saw that same photo in a Martha Stewart Wedding mag and fell in LOVE. I, of course, couldn't afford it. But I found a similar style from Maggie Sottero. It was strapless and I had straps added on. It wasn't quite as exquisite as the original but it was a lovely dress and I was very happy with it.
