The Stargate Proposal

Think about your dream proposal. Do it right now. Does it involve candles or Paris or expensive romantic dinners? That Groom and I were eating a nice dinner together one evening when he leans over and asks me if I would like to know the dream proposal he came up with, but could never do. I was a little nervous that he might actually repeat one of the "dream proposals" I had been thinking of and dash all hopes of having it, but what he had come up with was so much better.

He would take me here, to Cheyenne Mountain, and propose at the top.

Then we would proceed to get the highest level security clearance from the United States Government to go down to the underground facility where they store the Stargate. We would line up the seven chevrons and travel through to visit world after world together.

Sounds wonderful doesn't it? I am sure it also sounds impossible since the entire proposal is based upon a fictional TV series. We love watching Stargate SG-1 together, and it is definitely one of the things I miss most about being apart. If we were to go into a crowded room and talk about the stargate, odds are that no one would know what we are talking about. So it feels like our little secret, the special thing that we share, one of the many little things that we will share throughout our marriage.

What are some of the little things that you share with your siginificant other?

I love Stargate. I remember being so excited when Sci-Fi picked it up as we didn't have showtime.

I think my favorite evil guy was Ba'al (as in bocchi).

Long live Jack O'Neil and however many times Jackson comes back from the dead!

Jaren and I like to watch Gilmore Girls. :) So we laugh about that and there will be people we meet or times in our life where we'll be reminded of a character or an episode. And we just laugh. There are more things, I'm sure.

My love for all things college football and Mac - well he accommodates my love of Mac/Apple.

But our first date - all I could talk about was the impending Auburn v. Alabama game (Auburn won of course - War Eagle). He thinks its great to have a wife that loves sports.

I'm watching College ball now.

My Hubby2B and I both adore comedy of any type (stand up,sitcom, movies) and watching shows about house hunting.
